Dance on the Move (In Collaboration with Down Syndrome Foundation)

Dance on the Move is a combination of Dance/Exercise, Fun, and Ideas Competition. The aim of this project is to promote dance among youths using dance as a medium of expression and communication.

Dance on the Move is a competition where dancers engage themselves in a creative dance styles as they move from a start line to the final point.

We are organizing this event in collaboration with Down Syndrome Foundation Nigeria who by all means needs the support of every one to put a smile on the faces of this special ones in our society who has gotten little or no attention from both the government and the public as compared to other diseases such as Cancer, diabetes or heart disease. Our aim therefore is to integrate them to the society with love and compassion by giving them the opportunity to mingle with other youths.

Down Syndrome Foundation Nigeria is a non-governmental, not-for-profit charity of Children with Down syndrome as well as their parents, care givers and other interested stakeholders. Down Syndrome Foundation Nigeria was founded on 4^th December 2001 by a parent of a child with Down syndrome. Societal attitude towards parents with Down syndrome is totally negative in the Nigerian society.

 It is against this rather harrowing and ugly backdrop that the Down Syndrome Foundation Nigeria evolved with the vowed commitment to bridge the gap between children/adults with Down Syndrome and the rest of the society through a support system that seeks ultimately to integrate them knowing that with the right environment and care people with Down Syndrome can actualize their potentials and live a fulfilled life.

Rewards/Prizes

Winners will be going home with: 

•       1^st prize:               1Million Naira and Ambassador for DFSN for 1 year

•       1^st runner up:     500,000 and other gift items

•       2^nd runner up:    250,000 and other gift items
